We understand that for some of our patients, receiving dental treatment is too uncomfortable and daunting a proposition to consider unaided. While our team will always do everything we can to help our patients feel comfortable and at ease when visiting us here, there are times when sedation is the top course of action.
There are three different types of sedation available, including intravenous or IV, oral, and inhalation. Great used for different treatments, IV sedation is often used during longer or more complicated treatments, while oral and inhalation can be used for simpler, shorter treatments. All three sedation techniques require the presence of a professional clinician and an escort – either a friend, family member or carer – to take the patient home.
