While not all patients are eligible for implants, they do present a highly secure, comfortable, and stable replacement for natural teeth. While implants can be used to replace either a single tooth, or multiple teeth at once, all implants are made of a metal screw that we then affix to the jawbone. This screw – which is normally made of a highly durable material called titanium – then acts as the new ‘root’ for your tooth. The new prosthetic tooth is then fixed atop of the implant, making for a highly stable and long-lasting replacement.

At SnapeHill we will always recommend replacing a missing or extracted tooth where possible. This is because missing teeth can cause a variety of further oral health issues, as well as damaging a patient’s self-confidence and smile, and inhibiting their ability to eat and sometimes even speak.

Single tooth dental implants present a secure, comfortable and beautifully natural looking replacement for a missing or extracted tooth. Designed to replace the ‘root’ of a tooth with a titanium screw, these singular dental implants are very stable and highly durable. A prosthetic tooth will be fixed to the implant itself, and we will be able to match the tooth to the surrounding teeth, to maintain and enhance your naturally beautiful smile.

The treatment journey for a single tooth dental implant usually occurs over a few months. It will start with a consultation with us here at SnapeHill where we’ll determine if you’re a suitable candidate for the treatment. The titanium screw will then be fitted to the jaw during your second appointment. Following this, there will be a wait of a month or two, while we allow time for the jaw and the implant to fuse together. During this time, we can fit you with a temporary tooth. Once the implant and jaw are successfully fused together, you’ll return to the practice where we’ll fit you for your permanent prosthetic tooth.
