Fillings can be used when a tooth has been damaged due to decay, injury, or wear and tear. Used to a fill a cavity that can develop over time, a filling can return function to a tooth that might be causing the patient pain or sensitivity. Increased pain, difficulty biting down, or a toothache are all signs you may be in need of a filling. If this is the case we would encourage you to make an appointment with us as soon as possible.
At SnapeHill we provide both traditional amalgam fillings, and white fillings made of a highly durable composite material that can mimic the look of a natural tooth. While white fillings are increasingly popular for aesthetic reasons, there are some occasions when an amalgam filling may be more suitable. We will always take care to discuss all your options with you so that you are receiving the most appropriate treatment and so you feel confident in all your oral health decisions.
