He was then appointed as Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2011 at the University of Manchester.
Julian is a clinical teacher in all aspects of oral surgery including routine and advanced dental implantology to both postgraduate and undergraduate students.
He has vast experience in all aspects of implant dentistry including both the surgical and restorative aspects of patient management. Julian’s specific area of expertise is managing patients with atrophic jaws, including soft and hard tissue augmentation/grafting, the ‘All-on-4’ technique and zygomatic implants.
As an honorary Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he has significant experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team and managing patients with complex treatment needs.
